Hello! My name is Monique Calzadilla and I am currently a Senior at Florida International University. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Exceptional Student Education as well as a second major in Interdisciplinary Studies. At the same time I am on the Pre-Occupational Therapy Track and in the Honors College. I hope to graduate in Spring 2018 with a Global Learning Medallion and go on to pursue a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
There are a couple of passions that I have that are the driving force in all the decisions I make on a daily basis. For starters, for as long as I can remember I have had a passion for helping others. Seeing a smile on the faces of those around me is what brings me the most joy and keeps me going. Whether it be through the power of education, by volunteering, or by assisting someone therapeutically, anyway that I can help someone else improve their lives makes my day brighter. Another passion of mine is traveling. Traveling and learning about other cultures and about the world around me is something I truly value and find of utmost importance in order to really understand this world in which we live in. Lastly, I love to learn. I love expanding my knowledge base and learning new concepts in order to be more knowledgeable.
The Global Learning Medallion has allowed me to expand on my passions in a very innovative way and to learn about topics I wouldn't have been as aware of otherwise.
